William King Obituary

Met Jesus peacefully in his sleep on April 16, 2024, after a long, heroic battle with cancer and other health issues during which his positive attitude and determination will be an enduring testament to his spirit.  Born in St. Louis, MO on August 2nd 1947, he graduated from Hazelwood High School in June of 1965.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Sharon and his beloved children, Jason (Jen) and Christopher (Ann). Proud Grandpa of Alex, Jake and Coryn. Son of the late Marjorie and Price King. Brother of Margie Burkemper (Paul). He was a beloved uncle (Juju), brother-in-law, cousin, godfather, and friend to many.

After retiring from Ameren, Randy enjoyed retirement in many ways: listening to his favorite music, fishing, boating, crafting with Sharon, playing cards and board games, and watching softball and volleyball. He will always be remembered for his funny (and long!) stories of his younger years. During that time, he and his family enjoyed many outdoor activities, often camping and traveling to state parks. He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam war. Randy will be remembered for his kind heart, sweet smile and quick wit. Our thanks to the caring staff at St. Peter’s Acute care for their kindness over the last several months.

Burial will be private. There will be a Memorial Mass at 11 am on May 18, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church, 7 McMenamy Road, St. Peters MO, followed by an open house luncheon and celebration of his life. No flowers. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or you can also plant a tree with Fey Funeral Home.
