Muriel “Mickey” May (Ogden) Leyfert was born on June 20, 1939 and passed on December 23, 2023. Dear daughter of Robert John Ogden and Clara Mae (Griffith) Ogden; mother of Cheryl Williams (the late Dennis), Jan Sisson (Ronald) and Brenda Carwile (Don); sister of Robert Lopp (Joanne), the late Joanie Ross, Patrica Eder (Joe) and the late Linda Hurt; grandmother of Jeffrey Williams (Nichole), Alaina McLoud (the late Justin), Andrew Linegar (Leigh), Elizabeth O’Brien (Kevin), Jeremy Setelin (Emily), Kayla Sisson and Emily Setelin; great grandmother of Ayden, Emersyn, August Williams and Avalynn O’Brien; aunt of Robert Lopp, Jr. (Heather), Cheryl Finley (Chip), Sandra Christianson (Kyle), Chris Ross-Davis (James), Charlene Viets, Michael Ross and Terecia Boley (John); special friends of Sue Thomas, Bill Thomas and Mark Meyer. Mickey was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She cherished spending time with family and friends and was a noteworthy Scrabble opponent. Mickey loved sewing and was a member of the St. Louis Chapter American Sewing Guild, and the South County Chainstitchers for many years. She enjoyed playing music, and played piano, organ, accordion, and guitar. Mickey proudly served our country and is a veteran of the US Army and the US Navy. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph’s Chapel, 7677 Watson Road, Shrewsbury, MO 63119. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Heart Association.
