Michael Stout Obituary

Michael Joseph Stout, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully at his home with his family surrounding on October 23, 2021. He was born March 6, 1950 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Vivian Arlene (Brannum) Stout and the late Edward Joseph Stout. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Cochran) Stout.

Mike was a retired teacher for the Parkway School District where he was an educator of sixth grade math and science students at Pierremont Elementary. He was the proprietor of Mike’s Auto Sales and County Auto Sales for over 30 years. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and NCIS.  His true passion was boating. Whether it be on his pontoon boat on Lac Carmel-TDL or his Crownline Cruiser on the water of Lake of the Ozarks. Many referred to him as “Capt. Mike” which he proudly accepted his title. Mike’s dry, witty sense of humor could life anyone to a smile and laughter. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene Stout, daughters, Jennifer Stout Ludlam (Jim Ludlam) and Holly Green (David Tesreau), wife Linda Shearin-Stout, grandchildren, Audrey, Joey, Sophie, Jackson, Tucker and Cooper, brother, Mark Stout, sister, Cindy Stout (Tom Kohnen), brother-in-laws, Stephen “Jug” Cochran (Deborah Cochran) and Larry Shearin (Bonnie), nephew, Cary Stout (Liz Martin), niece, Jessica Stout, great nieces and nephews, Tye, Parker, Barbie and Vivi. Many cousins, other relatives and dear friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Fr. John Schneider officiating. A Celebration of Life will be from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday at the Terre Du Lac Country Club. If desired, memorials may be given to the Pancreatic Early Detection Fund (Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research), American Heart Association or Masses. Services by Fey Funeral Home.
