Marlene Kathryn Thoenes (nee Crecelius)

Marlene Kathryn Thoenes (nee Crecelius) was born on November 19, 1932 and passed on July 14, 2024. Marlene was a life-long member of St. Johns UCC Church and served many through teaching in the Sunday school classes, visiting shut-ins, and helping with various activities throughout her life. Outside of church, she worked many years in the Lindbergh School District, enjoying life as an avid walker, dancer, volleyball player, and Cardinal’s fan, and also visiting hospice patients. She will be missed by many. 

Dear daughter of Oliver and Florence Crecelius; loving mother of Mark (Susan) Thoenes and Cindy (Steve) Schaefer; sister of Virginia (the late Clifford) Woehrle; grandmother of Elizabeth “Liz”, Matthew (Jenny), Michael (Katelyn), Lauren (George) and Sarah (Matthew); great grandmother of 10; aunt, cousin and friend of many. Visitation at St. Johns UCC of Mehlville on Friday, July 19 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Burial following at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
