Leo Michael Stroup passed on August 17, 2025 at age 86. Leo was a devoted Catholic. He was a member of Assumption Parish for many decades and was active in his faith and Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time with his family and his many nieces and nephews, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Leo was an employee of McDonnell Douglas for many years.
Loving son of the late Ella Margaret (Maness) and Austin Stroup Sr.; beloved husband of the late Odelia Stroup (Porta); step-father of Shirley (Zanzie) Knittig, Sandra Zanzie and Joyce Zanzie; brother of the late Ella Mae (the late Thurman Moyer), the late Austin Junior (the late Violet), the late James (the late Corliss), the late Raymond (the late Rosemary), the late Barbara (Stroup) Weiss; grandfather of Missy Knittig and Mandy Zanzie; great grandfather of Lilly and Jacoby. Devoted uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Visitation at Fey Funeral Home on Monday August 25 from 4-7 p.m. with VFW service at 6 p.m. Mass at Assumption Parish on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with graveside service following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
Donations to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Humane Society of Missouri or Masses to the parish may be given.
