Obituary

Baptized into the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection on February 28, 2023 at age 79.  Beloved husband of Mary Moncivais (Ridenour); son of the late Pedro and Carmen Moncivais; father of Christopher (Allison) Shields; brother of Sylvia, Carmen, Rosa, Maria and the late Francis, Martha, Tony,  Josephine and Lupe; brother-in-law of Josie (the late Ron), Tonie (Jerry), Raymond (Pam), Barbara (Steve), Adele, Nick (Mary); and the late Andrea and John; grandfather of Christopher Tyler Shields, Devon Shields, Haley Shields, Samantha Measmer and Jaden Shields; uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, cousin and dear friend to many including Jesse Palos, Charles Kemp and the late Dave Martinez. Jose was a US Army Veteran that served in 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” and a member of American Legion Hall Post 162 in Lemay, MO.  Visitation at St. Martin of Tours in Lemay, MO on Tuesday, March 7 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, American Cancer Society or Masses preferred.
