Janice "Jill" Rosemary Jones

Janice Rosemary "Jill" Jones, 82, of Concord Village, died Friday, June 30, 2023.

Jill was born October 26, 1940, in St. Louis, to Vernon and Mary B. Ackermann. She married the late Patrick W. Jones in 1962 and had four children: Gary E. (Linda) Jones of Chesterfield, Julie (Jerry) Van Dielen of St. Louis, the late Jeannie (Jérôme) Laplante of Luxembourg, and Christine (Mark) Plamann of Milwaukee. She was sister to the late Jack (Mary Ann) Ackermann of Indianapolis, Lois (the late Ken) Jones of Troy, and Lynn Ackermann of De Soto.  She was grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of six, and dear in-law, outlaw, aunt, cousin and good friend and neighbor to many.

She was a beloved member of Wellspring Family Church in Concord Village. Her last weeks were spent in joy, surrounded by friends and family, chocolate cake, red wine and her favorite flowers, daisies and cosmos. She was excited about seeing Jesus, and her reunion with her husband and daughter.

Jill donated her body to cancer research at St. Louis University Medical School, facilitated by Fey Funeral Home.

Jill's family would like to thank all the health care professionals with Esse Health, Mercy South, Nazareth Rehab and Solace Hospice who ensured she felt secure and loved through her journey.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at Wellspring Family Church, 5293 S. Lindbergh Blvd. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Wellspring Church Homeless Ministry or My Place Too, 1107 Clarke St., De Soto MO 63020.
