Donald Cook Obituary

Donald R. Cook, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on July 4, 1936, Donald lived a full and devoted life marked by faith, family, and friendship.

Beloved husband of Helen Cook for 64 wonderful years, Donald was a devoted father to Doug (Dawn) Cook, Randy Cook, Curt (Jennifer) Cook, and Christopher Cook. He was a proud grandfather to Amy (Albert), Austin (Lauren), and Allyson (Vinnie), and a cherished great-grandfather to Carolina. He was the loving son of the late John and Margaret Cook and dear brother of the late Russell and Margaret.  He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Donald never met a stranger and was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and steady presence. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found great joy in the outdoors. He faithfully served for many years as Scout Master of Troop 661 and was a proud member of the Mountain Lake Hunting and Fishing League and First Baptist Church of Oakville. Donald dedicated 60 years of hard work to the Carpenter’s Union before his retirement.

Visitation will be held at Fey Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 26, at First Baptist Church of Oakville from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Oakville or Scout Troop 661.
