Darlene Marie Lauer (née Bader), fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died on August 18, 2024 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife for 58 years of the late Lynn W. Lauer and loving mother of Lynn Jr. (Barb), Judy (Barry) Holloway, Susan Tiepelman, David (Dawn) and Patricia (Doug) Haney. She was the proud grandmother of Lynn III (Trisha), Amanda, Steven Fryer, Crystal (James) Welches, Daniel (Cecelia) Tiepelman, Jonathan (Casey) Tiepelman, Joel (Alex), Derek, Bret Johnson, Natalie Haney, Cameron Haney, Michael (Beatrice) and Erin Jordan. She was a great grandmother of Ryan, Emily, Adriana, Bailey, James, Brendon, Kaylynn, Aubrey,Tyler, Daniel III, Logan, Liam, Emmett (Kelsie) Parker and Wyatt, a great great grandmother of Blair, sister of Benita Jane Peanick, Maydra Joy Kessels and Donna Wolff. Beloved sister-in-law of Diane Franceschi.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn, her parents, Benjamin and Iris (Godier) Bader, one sister, Geraldine (Beckermann) Bader, brothers-in-laws, James Peanick, Ronald Kessels, Carl Wolff, Stanley (Barb) Lauer, and Fred Franceschi, two grandchildren, Anthony Raymond Lauer and Mitch Haney. Dearest loving friend, William G. Haas.
Darlene was a very talented and loving mother, a wonderful cook, homemaker, a great “big” sister and a great friend to many. She was well organized, intelligent, and a hard worker with a keen sense of family and humor. She loved puzzles of any kind and was the “go to" person if you wanted to know about anything. She was always pleasant, never complaining, even with some serious health issues as she grew older. Darlene was able to live independently and greatly enjoyed her loving family. Darlene will be sorely missed, but her family is so grateful for her life and loving example.
Visitation at Fey Funeral Home on Monday, August 26 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
