Charles Ferrell beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend to many, was called home by our heavenly Father on March 24, 2025 at age 77.
His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Charles came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was a Civil Engineer for the Federal government for many years before he retired. He received Jesus into his life at the age of 9. His favorite verse was Psalms 23:1-6 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He taught us how to be strong and look to the Lord for our strength during tough times. He always said prayer is key.
He was a devoted husband and met the love of his life in Carbondale IL. The late Marinda A. Nash-Ferrell. He had 5 lovely children and loved them dearly. Melissa Ferrell-Carrasco, Ronald Ferrell, Donald Ferrell, Vonzetta Ferrell and Dorothy Ferrell. He had 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A short graveside ceremony will be held at New St. Johns Cemetery on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at Golden Corral. Procession from Fey Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
