Carol S. Hughes

Carol S. Hughes passed on November 9, 2025 at age 83.  Carol enjoyed spending time with friends, especially playing games of bingo and dominoes. She also loved working on puzzles and expressing her creativity through crocheting. An active and social person, Carol also took pleasure in bowling and golfing, hobbies that brought joy throughout her life.  Dear daughter of the late Oliver and Gladys Schaeffer (nee Klund); wife of the late Ronald J. Hughes; mother of Sherry (Gary) Ruhl, Larry (Stephanie) Koirtyohann, Keith Hughes, Kevin (Patty) Hughes, and Ken (Christel) Hughes; sister of Mary Lou (the late Greggory) Luig; grandmother of Katie, Tiffany, Andrew, Christy, Lauren, Anthony, Nick, Megan, Michael, Hannah, Shannon, Eric, Chelsey, and Mazie; aunt of Dennis and Eric Luig, and the late Stephanie Luig; great grandmother, cousin and friend of many. Visitation at Fey Funeral Home on Monday, November 17 from 4:30-7 p.m. and service at St. Johns EUCC of Mehlville on Tuesday, November 18 at 8:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical United Church of Christ, Mehlville – Logan’s Playground Fund, to the St. John’s fund of your choice, or to the American Cancer Society.
