Kenneth Lee Kennedy

Passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in St. Louis, MO at age 67. Ken is survived by his wife Tatiana Kennedy, daughter Anya, sons Bill and Greg, sisters Julie and Susan, as well as granddaughters Victoria and Gabriela. He is preceded in death by his mother Revella, father Herman and his grandparents.

Ken was born on December 30, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Herman Leroy and Revella (Cissy) Suber Kennedy. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1968 and pursued a degree in Education. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree from CMSU. He has always been an outstanding student and graduated with honors. Kenny was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and worked at the military hospital at Knob Noster base in Missouri.

Ken was an accomplished and passionate educator. He followed his dream of becoming a teacher, then an administrator. Ken loved God, his country, his family and baseball. He was a history buff, loved traveling, golf and trivia.

Visitation at Fey Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 7 at 9 am followed by a service and then to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for burial at 11:30 am.       The family would like to thank the hospital staff, relatives, friends and the church family for their continued support during the past few months.

Lorin Martin Hagemann

Passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at age 93 in Fenton, Missouri. Lorin was born on December 17, 1923 in St. Louis, MO to Samuel and Atanza Hagemann (nee Heim). He lived most of his life in   St. Louis' South County area in Sunset Hills. Lorin served three years in the Army during the last years of World War II, serving as a postal clerk. Upon discharge, he found work with the US Postal Service, where he would stay until his retirement. After retiring, he and his wife Hester Hagemann (nee Kemp) of 32 years split time between their home in Sunset Hills and Ste. Genevieve, MO. In later years, they moved to Fenton, Missouri. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Delmar Gardens in Fenton for their excellent care given to Lorin in his later years. Lorin was a dear brother of Loretta (Dick) Shaw and the late Clinton (Joyce) Hagemann; stepfather of Gary (Annette) Anderson and Reuben (Patricia) Heim;       dear uncle and grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.                 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Johns E.V.U.C.C.

Passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Beloved husband of Carol L. Reiner (nee Evans); loving father of Michele (John) Cook and Amanda (Paul) Reiner; dear grandfather of Sara, Tyler, Andrew and Alex and step grandfather of Jade. Founding member of Carondelet Lions Club and won the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian in 1971. Past Watchman of Shepard of the White Shrine in 1997. He was a 56+ member of Knight of Pythias, joined in 1961. In 1973, Jim served the state of Missouri as Grand Chancellor Commander. Founder of St. Louis Clowns of America, Alley #128 in 1982. They had over 80 members. The volunteer hours were many, including many Soulard Mardi Gras Parades, Cardinal Glennon Hospital, Annie Malone Children’s Home, Boy Scout Banquets, St. Louis Variety Club, St. Patrick’s Parades, Walk for Mankind, WMCA in Carondelet Branch, Breakfast with Santa at Crestwood Mall, Missouri Special Olympics, Creve Coeur Days, Loyalty Day Parades in St. Charles, just to name a few. He enjoyed having fun with the adults and children he met. He rode a riding lawn mower that had been converted into a tow truck and had a small kid car that his daughter rode in. Past Grand Monarch of the A.M.O.S. (Ancient Mystic Order of Samaritans) in Cahokia, Illinois #262 A.M.O.S. in 2001 and 2003, also in Missouri Horus # 241 in 2004. George Washington #9, Past Master of A.F. & A.M. in 1998. He was a Past Master of Olive Branch #576 A.F. & A. M. in 2008. He received the Honor Lodge Achievement Award in both Lodges. While serving Independents Odd Fellow Order I.O.O.F. for St. Louis No. #5, he served as Noble Grand for the 150th year anniversary in 1991 (Founded Aug. 21, 1841). The banquet was held at the Regal River Front Hotel. There were over 450 people that attended the banquet. The entertainment was Russ David and his Orchestra. He was a PDDGM from that lodge.  Jim had brought over 50 people into Odd Fellow over the many years. This includes Rebekah #45, I.O.O.F., Wildey # I Encampment & Department Council Canton 9. He also belonged to the Harmony #896 I.O.O.F. (a past Noble Grand) and Widey #2 Lodge as Past Noble Grand of these lodges in 1992.  He served for the Grand Lodge I.O.O.F. of Missouri as Appointed Grand Officers, in 2000 Grand Marshal for Ron Fults, 2001 Grand Herald for Claud Greenlee, 2002 Grand Chaplain for William Reynold, 2004 Grand Chaplain for Ed Hines, 2001 Grand Chaplain for Lloyd Rathgeber, 2013 Grand Chaplain for Carl Keller, 2014 Grand Herald for Doug Coen, 2015 Grand Herald for Danny Hampton.  He served as Grand Patriarch in 2000-2001 emblem the clown. He was awarded the Encampment Meritorious Award in 2008. He served as the Grand Treasure for 2008-2016. He served as Patriarch Militant Department Council of Missouri I.O.O.F. as Department Commander 2014-2016. He received the Decoration of Chivalry in 1992. His emblem the Frog, song: “Amazing Grace” and “His eye is on the Sparrow”, scriptures: Joshua 24:15 - As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord. Member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 25 years. He belonged to Oriental #228 and Meridian #442. Past Patron 4 times.

Dorothy “Dottie" Carroll                                           of Sullivan, MO, returned to her heavenly home on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the age of 71.

Dottie was born to parents William Benjamin “Ben” Donaldson and Dorothy Mae Starkey on May 3, 1946 in Kewanee, MO. She grew up in large family with five brothers, three sisters, five half-brothers, and two half-sisters. She graduated from Rockford High School in Rockford, IL and joined the U.S. Army’s Women’s Corps shortly thereafter serving as a nurse.

 

Dottie married Charles “Chuck” Carroll in 1967. They lived in Los Angeles, CA where she worked as a bookkeeper and operations clerk before moving back to the Midwest to raise her family. She and her husband had three children. She loved cooking, sewing, collecting antiques and Precious Moments, shopping with her sisters and her daughter- but her life’s joy was playing with her grandchildren.

 

Dottie is survived by her son, Charles Dana Carroll and his wife, Sarah, with granddaughters, Chelsea, Cristen, and Kiersten; her daughter, Crystal Allbritton, and her husband, Bradley, with grandchildren, Aidan, Elijah, Paige, Kellan, and Lincoln; her brothers, Bruce, Bobby, and Jimmy Donaldson; her sisters, Barbra Shultz and Debbie Woodward; and over fifty nieces and nephews- all of whom she loved. She was preceded in death and joins in heaven her husband, Charles Carroll; her son, Charlton Damian Carroll; her parents, Ben and Dorothy; her brothers, Ben and Joe Donaldson; her sister, Bennie Hayes; her half-brothers, David, Loyce, Emory, Warren, and Paul Donaldson; and half-sisters, Mary and Jane.

 

Dottie will be remembered for her faith in God, her love for her family and her country, and her brave and fun-loving spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Charles “Charlie” Kent Brigman

51, passed Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  He leaves behind two sisters, Joan Molozaiy and Jeanne Medlock; five brothers, Robert (Cynthia), Jerry, David, Timothy, and Paul (Teresa) Brigman;  10 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews;  1 great-great-niece; and devoted friend, Paula Hawkins. He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice; his mother, Dorothy “Marie”;  and a brother, Theodore Brigman.

Charles was a 2003 graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he earned a BA in Business Administration. He worked as a sales representative in both advertising and nutritional products.  Memorials may be made directly to the family to assist with final expenses or to the charity of your choice.

Wyoma (Cosgrove) Chouquette

Passed away at Life Care Center of Hickory Woods in Antioch, Tennessee on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Wyoma was born January 8, 1913 in Ruble, Missouri, the fourth of eight children of Benton and Josie Cosgrove. Wyoma was predeceased by her parents; brothers and sisters; Irene Buchanan, Charles Cosgrove, Fred Cosgrove, Louise Bauer, Blanche Hartmann, Evelyn Duncan, and Ralph Cosgrove; husbands Ervin Chouquette and Paul Richard; niece, Ila Buchanan and nephew, Richard Bauer, and their two grandnephews. Wyoma is survived by a nephew, two grandnephews, a grandniece, and their children.

Wyoma was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, the first and longest resident of the Bellewood subdivision in South St. Louis County. She was a lifelong member and past officer of the Order of the Eastern Star, nursing student, lifelong investor, and world traveler.

Gloria J. Leopold, 70, mother, companion, sister, aunt, and dear friend, left from this life at 6:09 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her home in Dupo, Illinois. She was admitted to the hospital the Tuesday before Christmas with stroke-like symptoms and shortly thereafter was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer.

 

Born Gloria Jean Webb, August 22, 1946, to Newell F. Webb, Dorothy A. (Wedberg) Goodman and lovingly raised with her sisters by her grandparents. A 1964 Mehlville High School graduate, mother, homemaker, PTA President, Girl Scout Leader, manager, bookkeeper and slot-machine lover.

 

Gloria is survived by children, Tamara E. Pfeil, Lisa E. Monteleone (Patrick), George R. Edinger, Jr. (Tyler) and Dawn R. Carter (Matthew). Loving companion, Edward C. Buhs. Grandchildren, Brennan N. Pfeil, Alex D. Pfeil, Tyler A. Wade, Gabriel J. Monteleone and Dacey L. Monteleone. Two sisters, nephews, nieces, great-niece, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Ruth E. Webb, sister, Lenore K. Bartlett and late husband, Conrad. M. Leopold.

Michael Raymond Gruver Jr.

Passed away on March 25, 2017 at age 48. He grew up in Fenton, MO and graduated from Eureka High School in 1987. After high school, he went to serve in the United States Army where he was a member of the 18th Airborne Corps in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and the Second Infantry Division in South Korea. He attended Sanford Brown and earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies. Michael was loved dearly by many and his absence will leave a void in the hearts of his friends and family. He is the deeply beloved father of Ashten Gruver, and deeply beloved son of Michelle Gruver. He is the beloved brother of Lanette (Mark) Imig, Jeff Gruver, Robert Gruver and uncle of Eric Witzel. He was a beloved cousin, nephew and friend of many here and abroad including his "Bull" and "Cobra" friends. Preceded in death by his father, Michael Raymond Gruver Sr., grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was an athlete and coach and loved to spend time with his daughter, friends and family. Mike had requested a private ceremony. There will be a dedication followed by a burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

88, passed peacefully on March 11, 2017 at Oak Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Waterloo, Illinois and St Louis, Missouri.  She was born 8-28-28 in Concord Village Missouri daughter of Louis and Florence Ploesser (Bender). She was married to the late Robert Stoker, he proceeded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Stoker was retired from Stupp Brothers Bridge and Iron in St Louis Missouri. She loved to travel, music and was very involved in St Johns Women Fellowship, Waterloo Bridge Group for 50 years, Sappington Concord Genealogy. Helen Irene Koonce                                                        August 19, 1920 - February 13, 2017                            Helen Irene Koonce was the only child of Mary Boyd Koonce Bishop and John Koonce.  She was born in Charleston, Missouri, and lived in St. Louis County, Missouri from the time that she was a young child.   Growing up in Lemay, she attended Hancock Schools; after high school graduation she attended Missouri Business School.  Helen was employed as a Clerk-Typist throughout her work life.  She worked for railroad car loading company and then worked at Missouri Pacific Railroad in the Typing Bureau for many years until her retirement. In her retirement years Helen enjoyed exploring her many interests.  She was a spiritual seeker, had an artistic eye and was a lifelong learner.  She was an avid reader and delightful conversationalist.  She had a deep appreciation of the beauty of nature and enjoyed watching birds and tending flowers at her home in Green Park.  Helen loved her dogs, having had a companion dog with her for most of her life.  She was known for her independence and intelligence.  Though she did not have family nearby, she created a circle of dear and interesting friends around her.  Helen was a long time member of First Unity Church; she faithfully attended weekly classes for many years.  Helen was also long time member of the St. Louis Chapter of the National Association of Railway Business Women. Helen’s cousin and friends wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Tesson Heights, where Helen spent her last year and a half; their care and kindness is greatly appreciated.       Graveside service only at Mt. Dixie Lee Westhause (nee Hogan)

Passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Beloved wife of the late John William Westhause. Dear daughter of the late Avery and Gladys Hogan. Dear mother of Devin (Jaime) Westhause of Geneva, Illinois, Melodie (Patrick) Ringer of South Bend, Indiana. Dear sister of Rex (Cindy) Hogan of Newport News, Virginia; grandmother of Tyler, Sara, Caroline and Aaron Westhause; Arletta and Evelyn Ringer.

 

Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Johns Evangelical United Church of Christ of St. Louis or Grace United Methodist Church music fund, South Bend, Indiana. Dixie and John were high school sweethearts. Dixie was never the same after she lost John in October of 2015. Dixie grew up with a love of music and wonderful talent for the piano. She played the piano on the radio as a young woman and later played the organ in church. She sang in the choirs at her churches in Pittsburg, PA and South Bend, IN and also accompanied the children's choirs. Dixie was the start of the soccer mom generation. When Devin and Melodie were school aged, she ran them everywhere.      She never missed a swim meet, soccer match or softball game. She was so excited when she became a grandmother. Dixie's love for her grandchildren ran deep.            They were the apples of her eye and would do anything for them. She was happiest when she had all of them under one roof. When Dixie really didn't recognize anyone else, the grandchildren would always bring a smile to her face. She was a special treasure.
