Everth T. Simpson Sr. "Chick"

Passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Corrine Simpson(nee Meier). Loving dad of Linda (Pat) Garland, Katie (Bob) Martin, Jacki (Tom) Meek, Tammy (Chuck) Risley, Jeff (Tina) Simpson and the late Ted (survived by Karen) Simpson. Dear grandpa of Bobby (Cristi) Martin, Terry (Shannon) Martin, Stevie (Kristina) Meek, Sam Meek, Amy (Mike) Garland, Amanda (Matt) Schmitt, Lauren (Kevin) Sanneman, Cori Garland, Ted Risley and Rheana Naber; great grandpa of 24 and 1 in September. Dear brother of Ruby Marah. Dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Henry Victor Nations

Born July 9, 1921 departed this Earth April 18, 2013 after a lifetime of service to others. Henry is survived by his wife Marjorie L. Nations (nee Larsen) and his sister Opal Reuben (nee Nations). Vic served his faith as a lifelong member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the Abigail Freedom Masonic Lodge. He served his family raising his children Leslie L. (Tim) Pawlowski, Robert C. (Paula) Nations and Mary S. (Bruce) Curry; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Vic served his country flying 50 combat missions in WWII earning two distinguished flying crosses, seven air medals and five campaign ribbons, including the Normandy Invasion. Henry served the public in a 36 year postal service career, rising to manager of one of the largest customer service offices in the city. He was also the recipient of the R-9 School Bell Award for contributions to the Mehlville School District. Henry was active in the National Association of Postal Supervisions and Merry Mixer's Square Dance Club. Memorials may be given to the St. Louis Heart Association. Visitation Sunday, April 21 from 2-5 pm with Masonic service at 4 pm. Visitation Monday, April 22 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 2761 Telegraph Rd, from 9 am until time of service at 10:30 am. Interment following at JB National Cemetery.

Of Nazareth Living Center passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. Beloved daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Tucker (nee Fitzgerald). Dear cousin, friend and sister in Christ. Sister Marie donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine.

Passed away suddenly on Friday, April 5, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Charles Niewoehner. Dear mother of Brad, Matthew and Jaclyn (Brian). Sylvia Rode

Passed away March 24, 2013 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerald K. Rode. Dear sister of the late Jean Rose, Vinita Price, Charles and Oscar Dressel. Dear aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, cousin and friend of many. Sylvia was a retiree of International Paper Company after 46 years of service.

Robert G. McGowan

Went to be with Jesus on February 26, 2013 at age 83. Loving husband of Sally McGowan (nee Osborn) and the late Alma Mae McGowan (nee Ward). Faithful father of Sue Jacobs, Sally Rasmussen, Margaret Letts and Robert McGowan Jr. Dear stepfather of Kim Conner. Cherished brother of the late John McGowan Jr., Terry McGowan Heavey, David McGowan and Rosemary Phillips. Grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 17. Dear uncle, cousin, father and brother-in-law. Bob, from Waterville, Maine, was a graduate of Exeter Academy and attendee of Bowdoin College where he was a member of Zeta Psi. He was an All American Swimmer and an accomplished business man with career highlights of VP for Ralston Purina, World Bank and a successful business owner. Visitation on Sunday, March 3 from 2-9 pm. Service to celebrate his life on Monday, March 4 at 2 pm then to Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the fine arts department at Concord Baptist Church.

Leonard L. Basler

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, January 14, 2013.

Beloved husband of the late Vernetta Basler (nee Stolzer) and Regina Basler (nee Mueller). Dear father of Paul (Rosemary) Basler, Judy Basler, James (Kim) Basler, Peggy (Micheal) Tancig and Micheal (fiancee Julie Ziegler) Basler. Dear brother of Walter (Jean) Basler, Betty Samples and the late Edwin, Genevieve, Olivia, Albert, Stella and Francis. Dear grandfather of Paul M. Basler, Kate Basler, Nicole Basler, Alexandria Basler and Carson Tancig. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Mr. Basler was a veteran of WWII in the southern Philippines.

In 1965 Mr. Basler established Basler Tree Farm and began growing and selling trees. In 1985 his sons took over the businesss and added the landscaping business known as Basler Nursery and Tree Farm, Inc.

Service on Friday, January 18 at 9:15 am then to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church for Mass at 10 am. Interment following at JB National cemetery.
